As part of the KelticDead Music Initiative,
I present these support pages to help folk play the tunes and songs
The most common instrument that I use for almost ALL of the tune arrangements presented within the KelticDead Music selections is with the six-hole, "Celtic," whistles. The D and the C whistles are the most common instruments used, and while they may have different notation scales, the tone-hole positions are exactly the same. This is also true of other, less common keyed, Celtic Whistles, but the scales are not shown in the following view.
Some of the KelticDead Music selections can also be played with the Richter-tuned, Diatonic Harmonicas. I present some of the more common diatonic "free"-reed harp keys that I use in playing the KDM selections. There are many folk who play "chromatic" reed harps and "specialty" reed harps as well, but I have focused the KelticDead Music Initiative to use only the Richter-tuned, diatonic varieties. See also the short write up about the remarkable history of these amazing instruments.
